Helpful Hints
Making it fit: Please measure the narrowest hallway, doorway and stairway paths your new merchandise will have to clear, prior to delivery, and relay this information to the store. Many times the narrowest doorway is not the exterior door. Our delivery team can then verify sizes and plan accordingly.

Let’s connect: To accommodate your busy schedule, we can make arrangements to call you one-half to one hour before your delivery at a phone number you specify, so you, a neighbor or a friend can meet our delivery team to let them inside your home and sign for your delivery. We are not able to make a delivery to an empty house or a home without someone over 18 available to accept and sign for the delivery.
Refrigerators & Freezers
We will unpack your refrigerator, bring it to your home, put it in the location of your choice (assuming it fits), plug it in, level it and make sure it is operating properly. It is your responsibility to make sure the location is large enough for the refrigerator and proper electrical service is available. All food must be removed from your old refrigerator and freezer, and all water lines disconnected prior to delivery. Our delivery team can change door swings, if needed, for a nominal charge. Installation of the water line can not be done by the delivery team but is available through our service department for a nominal charge. We recommend that you only use 1/4" copper tubing or reinforced flexible tubing.
Washers
We will unpack your washer, bring it to your home, put it in the location of your choice and level it. We will then connect the hot and cold water hoses to the shut off valves within 4 feet of the washer and put the drain hose in your drain pipe. Finally, we will test the washer to make sure it is operating properly. It is your responsibility to make sure the space for the washer is large enough, flooring is adequate and that the hot and cold water connections, the electrical outlet and the drain pipe are in place and working properly. We are unable to hookup water lines if the shut off valves are leaking or in poor condition. All standing water in an existing washer must be emptied prior to delivery.
Dryers
We will bring the electric dryer to your home, unpack it, put it in the location of your choice and level it. We will then plug it in and connect the dryer vent. Our delivery team is unable to disconnect or hookup the gas line to gas dryers but this service is available through our service department for a nominal charge. Finally, we will test it to make sure it is operating properly. It is your responsibility to make sure the proper electrical outlet and dryer vent are in place and that the location is large enough. We will be unable to hookup your dryer if nonmetallic venting is in place or the wrong electrical outlet is in place since it does not meet current code. Correct UL approved dryer venting and electrical cords are available for purchase from our delivery team. New dryers do not include cords unless purchased separately.
Icemakers
If an icemaker installation charge has been paid we will install the icemaker in the refrigerator as needed before it is picked up or when we deliver the refrigerator. Installation of the water line can not be done by the delivery team but is available through our service department for a nominal charge. We recommend that you only use 1/4" copper tubing or reinforced flexible tubing.
Microwave Ovens
Generally speaking Countertop Microwaves are sold on a U-haul basis. However, if you need assistance please let us know. When we deliver them, Countertop Microwaves will be brought into your home, unpacked, carefully placed in the location of your choice, plugged in and tested for proper operation. Built-in Microwaves require professional installation, which can be arranged for you through our service department for an additional charge, if you so desire.
Built-In Dishwashers
We will bring the dishwasher to your home and drop it off in it’s shipping carton unless requested otherwise. Built-in dishwashers require professional installation, which can be arranged for you through our service department for an additional charge, if you so desire. Our delivery team is not able to perform this service.
Televisions & Big Screens
We will bring the TV to your home, unpack it, and place it in the location of your choice. We will then connect it to your cable, antenna, or satellite, one adjacent VCR and test it for proper operation. It is your responsibility to have the cable, antenna, or satellite installed and working properly prior to the delivery. Hooking up to additional equipment like surround sound systems or installing additional TV hookups can be arranged for you through our service department for an additional charge.
Mattresses
Mattresses and foundations will be brought to your home, unpacked, and placed in a location of your choice. Our delivery team will place it on your existing frame or a new frame if one was purchased with the bed. Please make sure to completely drain waterbeds prior to mattress delivery.
Home Audio Equipment
Audio equipment is generally sold on a U-Haul basis. However, if you purchase a complete audio system, we can deliver the system and stand to your home. The assembly and installation will be your responsibility. If you encounter difficulty, we will be happy to assist you in getting the system up and running properly. Professional assembly and installation is available through our service department for an additional charge.
Disposal
David’s offers disposal on a one for one basis for all items purchased for a nominal disposal charge based on the item being disposed of. Please ask your salesperson for specific charges. David’s makes every effort to donate useable furniture to local charities.
Furniture
All furniture will be completely unpacked (unless you specify otherwise on your sales invoice), inspected for damage, and polished (if necessary) before it leaves our warehouse. Our delivery team will bring it to your home, place it in a location of your choice, and move the items being replaced to another location in your home. Our delivery team is unable to move unrelated furniture in your home. Assembly of items such as tables, entertainment centers, beds, etc. is not included in standard installation but is available for an additional charge.
Electric Ranges
(Freestanding Type) We will unpack your new range, bring it to your home, hookup the electrical cord, and put it in the location of your choice. New ranges do not include cords unless purchased separately. We will then test all of the elements for proper operation. It is your responsibility to make sure the proper electrical outlet is in place and that the location is large enough. Built-in ranges are generally hardwired directly into the wall and must be disconnected prior to delivery of the new appliance. Built-in ranges and wall-ovens will be dropped off in their shipping carton and require professional installation, which can be arranged for you through our service department, for an additional charge, if you so desire.

As a safety feature, manufacturers supply anti-tip devices with new freestanding ranges. These devices anchor the ranges to the floor to prevent tipping of the range by children standing on the oven door. Our delivery teams do not install these devices but installation can be arranged for you through our service department for an additional charge, if you so desire. Please refer to your owner’s manual concerning this feature.
